Sarah Bertholet holds a master's degree in public and international law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, which she obtained with distinction in 2023. She then went on to complete an additional master's degree in human rights at the Université Saint-Louis - Brussels, which she obtained with great distinction in 2024.
During her time at university, she was involved in the legal department of Law Students With Refugees, where she helped to organise legal advice sessions for asylum seekers. She also completed an internship at ULB's Equality Law Clinic, during which she co-authored an article analysing the K.L. v. Staatssecretaris van Justitie en Veiligheid judgment on the recognition of gender equality as a ground for international protection. In 2024, she also completed the human rights training provided by Amnesty International's Human Rights Academy.
Sarah Bertholet joined the Altea team in September 2024 as a lawyer. In February 2025, she was sworn in at the Brussels Bar and began her legal traineeship with the Altea lawyers' association, under the supervision of Céline Verbrouck. She is primarily involved in the fields of foreign nationals' rights, immigration law, nationality law and international family law.
