Charline Delval obtained a Master’s degree in Public and International Law from the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) with the highest honors (la plus grande distinction).
Supported by the Belgian American Educational Foundation (B.A.E.F.), the Fernand Lazard Foundation, and the Claude Pirson non-profit organization (ASBL), she completed her academic training with an advanced Master’s degree (LL.M.) in International Law at the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley).
During her university years, Charline Delval was actively involved in various social projects. Notably, in her third bachelor year, she joined the editorial team of the independent journal of the ULB Faculty of Law and Criminology. She later became its co-editor-in-chief during her final year of the Master’s program. Additionally, in her first year of the Master’s program, she completed a research internship with the ULB’s Equality Law Clinic, during which she contributed to drafting a third-party intervention submitted to the United Nations Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in the case L.J.W. v. Belgium, concerning housing and precariousness.
Charline Delval has been a member of the Brussels Bar since October 2022. She is completing her traineeship at the Altea law firm, under the supervision of Céline Verbrouck. Her practice focuses on immigration law, foreigners’ rights, nationality law, and international family law.
In December 2023, Charline Delval was awarded the Prize of the Former Presidents of the Brussels Young Bar Conference. This prize is awarded annually to the trainee who produces the best legal opinion in both form and substance, on a set topic. The 2023 topic combined issues of family law and private international law.
In May 2024 and May 2025, Charline Delval participated in the Le Jeune & Janson eloquence competition, organized by the Brussels Young Bar Conference.
